Onora Youth Workshop

Thu Jul 11 - 9:30am-11:00am

Text below from Onora, vetted by Karen.

This free virtual event is for high school students who want to help change the world.

During this 90-minute "try-it-out" workshop, you'll get to see for yourself how students from around the world are transforming their communities with the power of Gratitude-Based Learning (GBL).

Can't make the event? Please email Henrik@OnoraGlobal.com if you're interested but unavailable for this intro workshop!

Ideal students for this workshop:

- High school students around the globe

- Interest in environmental impact & social change

- Worried about the future of the planet/society and don't know if they're doing enough/what they can do to help

- Leaders and members of campus clubs

- English speaking (this workshop will not have translation available)

What to expect: In this live virtual event you should expect to meet passionate & curious people like yourself, have hands-on practice with Gratitude-Based Learning tools (GBL) that can help you be even more effective in your changemaking aspirations, and leave inspired about ways to expand your impact as a leader with GBL.

What you'll leave with: Leave this workshop with 3 GBL action tools, an invitation to join Onora's Student Impact Fellowship, and 1 clear message: that you are capable of even more MASSIVE impact when you lead with love, curiosity & connection rather than fear, telling & divisiveness.

Learn how students like you are making massive changes with GBL, such as:

  • Creating zero waste cafeterias
  • Installing solar panels
  • Improving water management systems
  • Launching new impact clubs
  • Starting campus gardens
  • Creating new campus policies

Did we mention FUN? The issues we're tackling together are serious business! It's imperative that the WAY in which we go about tackling these issues breathes more life into us and the people we get an opportunity to interact with. During this workshop we'll get to practice how to have FUN while changing the world together.

Why are we doing this? Many of us see the path we're going down as a society and we KNOW there is a better way… society feels so divided, so polarizing, and so isolating… it can feel so overwhelming, with so many different issues to solve… we KNOW there is a better way to live, connect, and thrive together. We see our role as Onora as here to help you maximize your positive ripple effects, feel success as a changemaker, and make new friends along the way. Healing our disconnection, together, is going to change the course of history. One connection, one ripple effect at a time.

What's required to attend? This is a very interactive session! Attend with video on, from a quiet place, with an open mind, and ready to meet some new amazing humans like yourself!

Note: this event also serves as the prerequisite for Onora's Student Impact Fellowship
