Remote Volunteer Needed

Passionate about communicating climate change resilience?

We could use your help to network with Portland professionals, small businesses, and community-based organizations to help plan a small June 2 event. We are seeking someone with 2-3 hours per week through May to volunteer their skills that will contribute to Cascadia Stack's first event: raise awareness to the movement to build personal climate resilience.

Who you will be volunteering with_

Cascadia Stack is an exciting, progressive thinking, but very brand-new organization, fiscally sponsored by CascadiaNow! a 501c3 nonprofit. Our program, called Climate Resilience Circle occurs monthly; a peer-support gathering to support folx experiencing eco-anxiety. The person in the Event Planning Volunteer position will help our founder to prepare for the June 2nd community event that will provide awareness and education through art and spoken word performance. https://www.cascadiastack.org

What you will be doing_

You will be contacting small businesses to ask for food donations and seeking Portland-local artists through Instagram and other community art sites.

  • Research online for donation forms for restaurants' contact information, etc.
  • Fill out the form, send an email, and/or contact by phone.
  • Make arrangements for an event-day volunteer to pick up the donation.

Skills and tools needed:

  • Computer, phone, an email account will be given.
  • Trello, Google Docs & Sheets.
  • Slack, Google Meet.
  • Personal Instagram account.

Please contact Drew at Cascadia Stack with a paragraph statement about your passion for climate action and highlights of your experiences doing prospecting research / outreach. Also, add if you are able to commit to the time needed to do this research. drew@cascadiastack.org
